WHO ARE THE MASONS?
Masons in Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey congregate at Harmony Lodge #18, the friendliest Lodge in Thurston County, WA. Our Lodge includes a broad cross-section of the community and we welcome all men over the age of 18 who want to improve themselves by associating with like-minded peers. Our membership is distributed fairly evenly across age groups and by profession, although because of the proximity to Fort Lewis (JBLM), many of our members are active duty military or veterans.
The Masonic Fraternity is the oldest Fraternity in the world. The Masonic Family includes Masons as well as organizations for their ladies, couples, and youth.
The Masonic Family provides more than $2 million a day to charitable activities such as hospitals, youth scholarship, and those less fortunate than we.

We have had fun the first 3 months of 2013. The Guest Past Master Program is up and running. Worshipful Brother Ed Woods was the leadoff hitter and wore a Bear Hat, The Brothers in attendance enjoyed his night and the Hat. Ed had so much fun in the hat that at the next meeting he made sure I wore the hat of his choice. Very Worshipful Brother Bruce York was the Guest Past Master for March and brought several Hats that he donned during the evening. During the fun we also put on a Fellow Craft Degree for Brother Aaron Scott in the small lodge room and it was beautiful.
Our Musician Brother Clint Brown Jr. has been regularly playing acoustical guitar and has added very pleasant and fun accompaniments’ to the meetings.
On April 16th, Rite Worshipful Grand Secretary, David P. (Plantagenet) Owen will be the Guest Past Master and will have a program from Grand Lodge for your entertainment. It is my understanding he will be bringing his own hats.
Your Harmony 18 officers have been working hard and I am proud of the focus they are giving to the craft. The slow side to the year has been attendance. During the Fellow Craft Degree we had only 7 brothers other than the Degree Team in attendance.
I know we are all busy but I must tug on you cable tow to please come to the April 16th meeting and the Master Mason Degree on the first meeting in May.
On Behalf, of Harmony 18 officers I hope your spring is bright and rewarding; we look forward to seeing you at Lodge.
Guest Past Master and Hats
Remember you may bring in a hat that you would like the Master (Guest Past Master or Me) to wear for that meeting. Should we have more than one fun hat it will be at the discretion of the brothers on which hat will be worn. For purposes of decorum a top hat will be worn for degree work and situations requiring this emblem of seriousness.

Have you paid your 2013 dues yet? If you're not sure, check your dues card. If it indicates that you are paid through December 31, 2013, you're all set. If not, contact me, please! And if you believe you've paid but haven't received your dues card, please let me know so that I can check my records and rectify any errors on my part. Thanks, Brothers!
