WHO ARE THE MASONS?
Masons in Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey congregate at Harmony Lodge #18, the friendliest Lodge in Thurston County, WA. Our Lodge includes a broad cross-section of the community and we welcome all men over the age of 18 who want to improve themselves by associating with like-minded peers. Our membership is distributed fairly evenly across age groups and by profession, although because of the proximity to Fort Lewis (JBLM), many of our members are active duty military or veterans.
The Masonic Fraternity is the oldest Fraternity in the world. The Masonic Family includes Masons as well as organizations for their ladies, couples, and youth.
The Masonic Family provides more than $2 million a day to charitable activities such as hospitals, youth scholarship, and those less fortunate than we.

Brothers, it is a great honor to be standing in the East. So many good examples of leadership, brotherhood, of Masonry have been in the East before me. The bar has been set high. It is my duty to meet this challenge in a manner reflective of the highest respect to the craft, to the Brethren of the Lodge, and to those Past Masters who have traveled there before me and given so much for Harmony!
This year will be a challenging year for me, as I am relatively young in Masonry. But without a challenge, how do we grow. Our success will be measured by the grace and resolve with which we uphold the tenants of Masonry, Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. With the assistance of the Brethren, this will be a productive and fun year. Fraternally, MB Pat Baker

Harmony Lodge Bikes for Books event East Olympia Elementary
As you all know we had a Bikes for Books event at East Olympia Elementary school today and it went really well. We presented two bikes to a young man and lady who if my memory is correct both read over 1000 minutes. In the first photo you can see a line going around the wall, all those students participated in the Bikes for Books program and gave a good effort. I saw the father of the girl talk to Clint Brown thanking us for donating the bikes, I just want to point out that this was not the generic thanks that are often given out without thought, but really a heartfelt thanks from someone who truly meant it. I know these bikes were not planned and done last minute and really want to thank all the Brothers that donated to make it happen. I apologize the photos are not better but its been a while since I have invested into photography.
